this is a vintage Native American Skookum Doll he is 12” tall and has wood legs and feet have a thin leather type paper? Straw stuffing. Great condition for his age. He is roughly 100 years old!

* Origin: Skookum dolls were created by Mary Dwyer McAboy from Missoula, Montana, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The name "Skookum" is Chinook jargon for "good" or "bully good".

* Appearance: These dolls typically feature composition heads with painted facial features, often depicting a side glance. The bodies were often made of cloth and straw, with wooden legs and feet.

* Clothing: A hallmark of Skookum dolls is their attire, particularly the use of Indian-style folded blankets, often made of wool or trade cloth, to create the appearance of folded arms. They frequently wear traditional Native American-inspired clothing
