RARE Girl Scout pin, WWII era 1943-1945.
The Girl Scout Museum states: "Mistakenly called SILK pins, these RAYON pins from 1943 were for unofficial wear. They are difficult to find in good condition because the metal backings often rusted, the rayon snagged or colors faded."
This pin front is in very good condition, no snags. The back has rust and remnants of a price tag. Pin and clasp work fine. A very unique pin I found in the attic of a large, 1920's house in Memphis we cleared out in the 1980's.
