Vintage from the 1960s
From the Tuscan village of Empoli, where glass making goes back a millennium, comes this elegant golden amber mid-century pedestal vase. The body of the vase sits on an unembellished four-inch-tall pedestal whose base measures just shy of 5" in diameter. By contrast, the body of the base is ribbed (21 ribs total) to greater refract light; moving by it, it appears to swirl.
At seventeen inches tall with a polished pontil mark, the vase is in like-new condition, with no chips, flea bites, cracks, hairlines, scratches, scuffs, clouding, or repair. Please note: It is a characteristic of mouth-blown glass to have slight irregularities, as there are here. Tiny air bubbles are visible in the glass !
