"The Meyer-Optik Görlitz Orestor 100 mm f/ 2.8 is a high-quality portrait lens for 35 mm SRL cameras. It came in two variants: for the M42 screw mount (flange focal distance 45 mm).) and for the Exakta bayonet mount .
The lens came in two modifications: manual and with the instant-return aperture mechanism. The second modification is very rare. The version equipped with the instant-return aperture has 6 aperture blades, and not 15.
The Meyer-Optik Görlitz Orestor 100 mm f/ 2.8 was manufactured by the Meyer company in Dresden (GDR) in the 1960 – 70s.
After the merging of several companies and the foundation of the VEB Pentacon, the lens, slightly updated, be produced as the Pentacon 100/2.8.
