The fish works great but it is missing the battery cover. It works on batteries, but the compartment is a little tight and sometimes the batteries do not make contact with the battery terminals unless you position them correctly. If the fish does not turn on when you receive it, please make sure the switch is set to "Try Me" and the batteries are making full contact with the terminals.
I also only recommend using this fish on batteries and not with an adapter, as an adapter could damage the circuit board.
