This is a beautifully detailed Imari plate, most likely from the late Edo or early Meiji period, showcasing a timeless blue-and-white palette. The plate features an intricately painted floral motif, with chrysanthemum blossoms and scrolling vines dominating the central design. Surrounding the floral center are sectional patterns with lotus-inspired details, creating a harmonious balance between traditional Japanese aesthetics and symmetry. The scalloped edge adds a delicate touch to the piece, enhanced by subtle gilded accents that have weathered gracefully with age.

On the reverse side, a mark inscribed in underglaze blue reads 大明成化年製 (Dà Míng Chéng Huà Nián Zhì), a common homage to Chinese Ming dynasty porcelain. However, this plate is unmistakably Japanese, likely produced in Arita for export or domestic use during the height of Imari ware’s popularity.
