Nelson and Sons, Edinburg, MDCCCLX (1860) A Rare First Edition in an Even Rarer Book Prize Binding- gilded leather and gilded page edges with sewn in silk bookmark- all far superior to the mass marketed cloth bound version. This may well a one of a kind book.

Front Plate Embossed and Gilded: Palmam Qui Meruit Ferat – latin translates to “let whoever earns the palm bear it.”
Back Plate Embossed and Gilded: Dane Bank House Congleton.
Book is in very good condition with tight bindings, well conserved leather cover and gilding, some foxing through-out but very readable with fold-out map intact and all the illustration coverings in place as well.
