Antique Signed Oil on Canvas Art by Hungarian Artist Marie Sandor (1885 – 1924)

Featuring Parisians and tourists walking on a beautiful Paris street with the Arc de Triomphe in the background, this oil on canvas print was created and signed by Hungarian artist Marie Sandor. It is expertly painted in the Impressionist style with textured palette knife work and brush strokes and embodies the Parisian lifestyle. The ornate gold frame is 13 ¾” W x 11 ½” H x 1 ¼” thick and has a tan linen mat. The art itself is 8” H x 10” W. Similar styles have sold online for up to $600. This piece came from an estate sale and I was told it was purchased in Paris and brought to the U.S. in the 1960s. Brass stand not included.

History: Hungarian artist Marie Sandor was born in 1885 and died in 1924. Her paintings often depicted European streets, cityscapes, beautiful pastel colors on buildings, and people enjoying a laid-back European lifestyle. Her art pieces are highly coveted and considered true antique collector's items.
